It’s back to school and our individual support for education is springing into action. Over 60 Children from poor families are getting the school bags and stationery they need. Our mentors and tutors are giving lessons to help children reach their potential. And training will give more volunteers the skills to support vulnerable children.

Every child who needs a sponsor has their own story: some live in poverty while others have lost their parents. When that child finally enters university, or finds a job and supports themselves, we are tremendously proud of their success! Here are some stories of children sponsored in Ukraine.

Distributing food through the crisis has connected us with some of the poorest families in the Lviv Region. We can help by providing food, activities for the children and support for education. By getting to know children and their parents we can link them with our programmes for better opportunities.

Oksana’s fostered daughter used to run away from home, but with expert advice Oksana helped her adjust to living in a stable family. Take a look at how we are supporting foster parents with training, support groups and resources, so like Oksana they can find the solutions they need.

Vasilyna bravely tells the story of her fight to find a better life through dancing after a childhood of abuse, tragedy and institutional care. Discovering a love for dance, and help from Sponsorship, has changed her prospects for the future.

State children’s homes closed in March. 5,000 children of all ages returned to homes in the Lviv Region that have difficulty supporting them. Each has their own unique history of why they were in children’s homes. Now many find it difficult to cope.

In the Corona crisis we are helping families with emergency needs for food and medicine. Some of our services have moved online: children are being tutored, teenagers are meeting to get advice, and foster parents are consulting a psychotherapist in support groups. Find out more and get involved!

Racing across 100km of arctic conditions while pulling a 40kg sled is an incredible challenge, and Dr Linda Rohrbasser inspired an amazing €4,700 raised for Care in Action on the way. She and two friends blazed a trail, vying to be the first British women's team to complete the Asnes Expedition Amundsen.

17 people joined our 3 day course to learn about mentoring, the special needs of children who need our support, and how to help in the best way, so more children will have the individual support they need to thrive.
