Gemeinsam zu einer glücklichen Kindheit

Seit Mai 2025 hat das Together-Programm drei neue Projekte gestartet: Kognitive Verhaltenstherapie, Theaterunterricht und Die Welt der Berufe. Es richtet sich an Kinder in Betreuung und schwierigen Lebenslagen. Im Kriegsalltag der Ukraine haben 44 % der Kinder Konzentrationsprobleme, sind leicht reizbar oder fühlen sich einsam. Unsere Angebote sind mehr als Bildung oder Therapie – sie schaffen Raum für Fürsorge und stärken die seelische Widerstandskraft.

Culture and Creativity with the Veselovsky Family

A fun event to engage with Ukrainian art and culture was brought to 25 disadvantaged young people in Lviv, where the Veselovsky family showed their talents and got everyone involved in music, painting and making traditional Motanka dolls.

Family Camps for foster families “Together is Better”

140 children and adults from 18 foster families came together for our two four-day Family Camps. There were specialised activities for every age group, bringing both learning and development and lots of fun! While staff and volunteers engaged the children with drama, health and safety and games, parents learned skills they need for fostering from Child Psychologists.

The School of Independent Life: Media Literacy

Our camp taught media literacy skills to 25 teenagers who are fostered or have difficult circumstances at home. Over two days the young people learned essential skills for our digital world: critical thinking, understanding information bubbles, and how to create own quality content. We want to thank our charismatic speakers, volunteers and donors for making this possible!

Developing potential through mentoring and tutoring

Children can’t learn well when they’re stressed and don't have a stable home. We start with a personal mentor, then when a child has a supportive role model in their life we can help with tutoring. This brings positive changes for children like Maria, and develops their potential so they can succeed in life.

International volunteers give online tutoring

Can international volunteers personally help a child in Ukraine during the pandemic? Absolutely! 12 young people in Germany helped 12 disadvantaged young people in Ukraine to improve their English conversation skills through weekly online tutoring. The next tutoring course will begin in September.

Help for families in crisis

373 children received food parcels this winter, with loads of fresh fruit and 73 sets of groceries delivered. To give longer-term solutions we are transitioning some children into our sponsorship and other programmes, with 5 families selected to start as soon as possible. And Covid didn’t stop us from spreading Christmas cheer through our volunteers’ Shrek-themed video.
