Bringing Light, Joy, and New Skills to Children

In December, our efforts brought smiles, warmth, and learning opportunities to over 700 children, as well as vital support to 20 foster care families to prepare them for winter power challenges.

Here’s a snapshot of our activities:

  • 230 children in care homes enjoyed a special program by our volunteers, featuring games, laughter, and a drama on understanding emotions.
  • 440 children in care or living in poverty received meaningful Christmas gifts.
  • 160 visits to our Creative Hub provided displaced children with therapeutic activities and a chance to celebrate the season.
  • 79 children at the Nahuyevych Special School discovered new interests and career goals during a "Talent in Action" day.
  • 50 children from rural art activities combined creativity with learning local history during an excursion to Lviv.

93% of parents reported positive changes in their children's behavior and emotions, showing the power of consistent engagement for 150 children in community art classes.

Children will also see ongoing positive impact through these developments:

  • 20 large foster families in the Dnipro and Mykolaiv Regions received 10 generators, 9 power stations, and 40 rechargeable lamps, ensuring warmth and light during power outages.
  • Interactive Space for children's activities opened in Berezdivtsi Village.
  • 12 new mentors trained to give individual support to children in care.

Heartfelt messages and photos from children and carers illustrate how much this means:

“I’m grateful that our children have such engaging classes. The children are thrilled, and we parents are too. In these turbulent times, it’s so important for our children to have a positive distraction!” - Halyna Shershen, mother in Sasiv.
For displaced families and local children affected by the war, our Creative Hub provides a haven.
"I watched your program and am truly impressed by how much you’re achieving in such a modern, professional, and educational way. The children not only have fun but also learn valuable skills. I’m proud that we’ve been part of this wonderful initiative for so many years." – Yarina, Administrator of Split Club (donates venue for celebrations)
Building Confidence and Safety: a fashion show organized by our STEP youth team not only boosted the confidence of participating teenagers, but also raised awareness about staying safe during power outages when streets are dark.
Our team trained 12 mentors to give children in care the support they need to feel secure and reach their potential.
Cheers to Volunteers! Year-round, our incredible volunteers bring joy to children and play a key role in helping those in care grow up with the confidence to succeed.

Thank You for caring. Every donation and every hour of volunteer time make a real difference. Together, we’re transforming lives and creating brighter futures for children.
