Volunteer roles:

Tutor a young person in Ukraine online: weekly sessions to develop English or German language skills
Raise funds: you can collect donations instead of gifts for a special occasion, introduce us to your school, church or workplace, or set up a fundraising page with the donation platform www.betterplace.org

English tutoring

Find how we connect volunteers with young people in Ukraine for regular tutoring, and how this improves English speaking and listening skills. The wonderful thing is that this can result in better education and career possibilities.

Why take action?

War in Ukraine means that children are loosing their homes, school is interrupted by air raid sirens or power cuts, and stress prevents children from concentrating on their studies.

In Ukraine there are also more than 105,000 children raised in 751 care institutions1. These children experience negative impacts to their physical and mental development and a high level of social marginalization and exclusion2. Only 10% of children who have been raised in care will successfully integrate into society3.

Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world, and the endemic spread of AIDS has left many children orphaned and exposed to extreme poverty. Only 20% of children complete lower secondary school.

We help better the opportunities for vulnerable children in both countries, and with the right social development, preparation and enough support, they can beat the odds.
