Stand with Ukraine

As floods of refugees are arriving in Lviv to escape the military action acrosss Ukraine, the needs are enormous and we are there to help. Donations are helping our team, who is in Lviv and taking effective action to help people fleeing the violent conflict, and in Starnberg so we are prepared to welcome refugees.

This is some of what we have supplied for refugees in Ukraine so far:

• 5,000 Euros for food supplies for refugees spent in coordination with the Lviv City Council
• 500 Euros for food for refugee families in Drohobych with the local Council
• 500 Euros to buy sleeping bags for refugee families in Drohobych
• 250 Euros to provide 400 hot meals for refugees
• 1,100 Euros for medicines for refugees in Lviv 
• 1,000 Euros for food supplies for refugees in Lviv 
• 1,625 Euros for shelter for refugees travelling with children, from 2 - 15 March

In addition, our team in Ukraine has provided these forms of support:

• Funding and moral support for our beneficiaries, checking their safety and helping them to get away from war zones
• Collection station for urgently needed supplies for refugees
• Preparing art supplies and activities for children
• Working with our volunteers to sort aid supplies arriving and assist at refugee centres
• Responding to requests for support from foster families, children’s homes and crisis centres
• Therapist support meeting for foster parents in Zakarpattia
• Expert training for staff and volunteers on how to help children’s mental health during the crisis

In Germany, we are preparing to welcome refugees:

• Action Committee set up to assist with the first practical and legal steps needed
• Capacity to receive 15 refugees in Starnberg, with more opportunities coming in

Looking ahead, our priorities are to help children and families through the crisis, both with immediate relief and for the longer repercussions. In Lviv we are buying bedding and food supplies, and looking for a place where we can offer much needed shelter to children and families who are fleeing the military attacks and arriving from across the country.
